Statement of Philosophy and Intent

As an artist, it is atmospheric light that stirs my spirit to paint and fills me with excitement. With the mediums of oils and pastels I work en plein aire, passionately painting the fleeting moments and moods of nature. Through my paintings, I want the viewer to be captivated by the power of light as it filters through trees, dances on water, modulates tones in clouds and sunsets, illuminates landscapes and seascapes. Painting is a very spiritual experience for me as I engage in a process of co-creating with the Source of All Life and Light. I pray each painting becomes a window to the sacred, and, invites a contemplative pause like I experienced in creating it. I want my art to inspire gratitude for the beauty of creation and our kinship with the earth.
